Our Purpose

The Eastern North Carolina Shag Club is a non-profit dance club that keeps the music and the dance alive.

We enjoy, uphold and perpetuate the traditions of rhythm and blues, beach and shag music, and shag dancing.

We invite you to browse our site and enter the fun-filled shagger's lifestyle of Eastern North Carolina.

Our Members

Most of our members belong to the 50+ "baby boomer" era, but we encourage and support dancers of all ages to come join and see who we are.

Whether you have danced for decades or have never tried a step, there is a place for you on our dance floor.

ENCSC has had more than 100 members for the past 2 years. Each of these members is a potential new friend.

Committees are available for members who want to take an active part in club events.

What Makes Us Different

Friendly

Newcomers are welcomed. Every member was once new to the club.

Non-Profit

We are a non-profit club, and we give back to children in Pitt County each year.

Connected

We belong to the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs, over 100 clubs from Baltimore to Miami.

Our Larger Family

Our club is a member of the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs, an organization of over 100+ non-profit shag clubs stretching from Baltimore to Miami, and pushing further west every day.

Members share in joint SOS parties at North Myrtle Beach in April and September whenever possible.
